Enano Health: Facilitating Simplified Preliminary DIY Diagnosis

    CIO VendorWinnie Leung, Co-founder

"Health management over disease management” is a motto that drives Enano Health, a Hong Kong based healthcare startup. Unlike most wellness initiatives, Enano Health aims to help individuals know their health status before becoming victims of dreaded diseases, through simple DIY tests. “We are developing a global consumer wellness, self testing platform to empower people to identify the possibilities of falling prey to ailments any soon. The results would enlighten individuals about the repercussions of a sedentary lifestyle,” mentions Winnie Leung, Co-founder, Enano Health.

Leung states several factors that differentiate her organization from others belonging to the healthcare landscape. Most importantly, Enano Health’s solution suite arrives at a health status inference based on saliva sample tests, unlike other diagnostics that rely on blood mostly. Alternatively, these tests can also be conducted by using sweat, urine, and tear samples. This medical breakthrough is a huge relief for individuals who fret at the sight of syringes, blood, and wounds. The non-invasive, DIY nature of the tests not only offers a convenient way to monitor problems without having to visit the medic for painful procedures frequently, but also helps foresee an impending doom. Apart from merely declaring results, Enano Health’s comprehensive solution also involves recommendations of an ideal lifestyle and diet to stay healthy.

One of the company’s noteworthy offerings is the Kiss & Tell glucose meters which have already undergone a couple of enhancements since introduction. The meter reveals an individual’s health status in a matter of just five minutes, based on the saliva placed on the blue receptacle. Merely checking for a color change in the paper strip gives a fair insight of the person’s glucose level. Pink indicates a high glucose level and suggests a visit to the doctor for further diagnosis. An individual can also upload the snapshot of the result obtained from the meter on Enano Health’s cloud-based mobile application. The meter has to be disposed after a test, which rules out the possibilities of contamination.

Similarly, the organization also offers first watch tests and Super Emr solutions, and has plans to bring another solution, eNano biosensor to the market. which will help in early disease detection and prevention through saliva. The First Watch tests for instance help in the detection of insulin, uric acid, cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s and Cancer at a molecular level. Enano Health opts nano technology for the development of sensors that help foresee health risks at point-of-care. “One of our employees is a nano specialist engineer who essays a key role in the development of solutions. Adoption of nano technology in our solutions increases accuracy of health forecasts and warns individuals of the possibility of attacks,” adds Leung. Enano Health distributes these solutions through a myriad of channels such as pharmacy outlets, healthcare providers, and wellness organizations as well as distributors.

The organization’s workforce encompasses molecular biologists, engineers, and chemists, who have played a vital role in the development of its innovative solutions. Identification of challenges over weekly meetings has been one of the team’s consistent activities. Since its early days, Enano Health has relied on reviews from various communities to improve its solutions and evolve as an organization. The healthcare firm also participated in events such as “Hong Kong International Medical Devices And Supplies Fair” recently, in order to garner a fair amount of visibility. In the near future, the firm plans to launch a series of simple first-watch based tests for pregnancy, stroke, and several dreaded chronic illnesses.
